Our Physicians' Background
|

Paul H. Kim, MD received his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. and completed his residency in family practice at Carle Clinic, Champaigne, IL. Dr. Kim opened his first clinic, Walnut Creek Wellness Center, in October 2002, where he continues to serve as Co-Medical Director. Dr. Kim is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Preventive Medicine, American Society of Hypertension, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Dr. Kim and his wife, Melanie Lee, M.D. live in Walnut Creek, CA. During his spare time, Dr. Kim enjoys golfing and soccer.

Daniel J. Heaney PA-C received his PA license from Stanford University, CA. He has practiced in Family Practice for nine years, most recently with Clayton Valley Medical Group for the past seven years. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Mr Heaney held licenses as an EMT and respiratory therapist and worked seven years in adult critical care and trauma/ER. Currently, Mr Heaney is a Captain in the United States Army, National Guard. He is the lead medical provider and medical platoon leader for a team focused on treatment of casualties in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical weapons of mass destruction attacks within the state of California. He holds certifications as a physician assistant nationally and is licensed to practice within the state of California. Mr. Heaney is married and has one child. He is an avid bicyclist and runner. He has been part of the Ironman Triathlon Medical Team (1999, 2001, and 2003) and has an interest in sports medicine and injuries. He has resided in the Bay Area for 42 years.

Karen, our office manager graduated with a BS in Child and Human Development from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. After three years of teaching school, she shifted her career to Health Education and Medical Management. Karen has 18 years of Medical Office and Program Management experience in Contra Costa County. Prior to coming to the Pleasant Hill Wellness Center, she was the Coordinator and Educator for a Sexual Assult Emergency Response Program. Karen lives in Martinez with her husband. They enjoy playing Bocce and traveling with friends and family, and especially spending time with their new granddaughter.

Our Staffs' Background

Danielle, our receptionist is from Concord, California. She attended California University of Chico and in 2004 obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations. Danielle has worked in communications and customer service for eight years. She enjoys music, movies, and traveling.

Lynda received her Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Certificates from H&L Medical, in Carmichael, CA in 1988. She started her career as a Medical Assistant at Mt. Diablo Primary Care where she worked for 2 years. After that she worked for Clayton Valley Medical Group for 9 years, during which certified as a Radiological Technician at U.C. Berkeley. She is currently the Lead Medical Assistant for Pleasant Hill Wellness Center. In her spare time she loves traveling and gardening.

Alison received her Medical Assistant Certificate from Maric College in Sacramento. She has worked as an MA for two years. Prior to joining Pleasant Hill Wellness Center she worked at Clayton Valley Medical Group. She is also a MA in the afternoons at Touro University Medical Center. Alison has also returned to school to prepare to become a registered nurse. During her free time she coaches at Diablo Valley Volleyball Club throughout the year.

Stacy is a Certified Medical Assistant who received her certification from Boston Reed College and her Emergency Medical Technician certification from Los Medanos College. Stacy has been working with people in the community for the past ten years and most recently joined the medical community and enjoys it very much. In her spare time she loves to be outdoors camping, hiking or spending time with friends and family. |
